Can I request a later checkout at hotels?
You can request a later checkout at most hotels. It is best to join the membership frequent stay program such as "Hilton Honors" -- most are free and some allow later checkouts. (Sheratons often allow 4 p.m. checkouts.) Most hotels have checkouts at 10-11 a.m. since they need to clean the room for the next guests. Most will be flexible and allow 1-3 hours later, so depends on how busy hotel is that night and how late cleaning staff works.
