Expert Q&A

Who should you tip when on a cruise?
Tipping is a matter of personal preference on most cruise lines. However, a general rule of thumb is to plan for about $3 per person per day for the cabin steward and dining room waiter, maitre 'd (if you want) and half that amount for the busboy. Other shipboard personnel can be tipped for special services at your discretion.
