How should I pack frozen food to travel on an airplane?
You can take frozen food or you can ship it. If you get some of the freezer packs they will allow it. Dry ice is not allowed since the cabin pressure may not keep it intact.
If you are taking a child with you, I suggest you ship everything you can.
- Freeze the food.
- Pack in a plastic zipper bag.
- Pack the frozen pack inside the zipper bag.
- Wrap in aluminum foil to keep the temperature intact.
- Place all of it in an insulated cooler or cooler bag and ship as luggage.
You should be fine. I would not take it through security because, again, you never know who is going to make a fuss about it."
