Expert Q&A

| By Sandra Grenier Prenatal Fitness Instructor | ||
We are expecting our child around the end of July, and the ski season has just started. We are both good skiers; does the pregnancy preclude us going this year?
Sorry, the guidelines for fitness during pregnancy by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommend avoiding any sport that could result in falling. This includes things like skiing, rollerblading and some contact team sports.
In my opinion, no sport is worth risking your baby's health and development. Try to be patient while you take one winter off. Then you can return next year with a healthy baby. Good luck!
