Expert Q&A

I want to go on a family back packing trip. It's about three days and not too intense. Is this something I'll be able to do at 4 Months?
If your family is willing to let you set the pace, you should physically be able to do it. If you have not hiked before, take the time to gradually work up to the stamina and pace you will need. Be sure to bring enough water and food -- especially wholesome snacks (protein and carbohydrates) that you can munch every 2-3 hours, like low-fat cheese and crackers or peanut butter on whole wheat bread.
Even if you are not hungry, a snack for baby will help. Pregnant women need more glucose during physical work, so eat small meals frequently.
Be sure your family understands and supports your needs for rest, food and water before you venture out. Enjoy!"
