Well, I was up at 8:00 a.m., showered, packed, and ate breakfast on the move, then off to LAX for the flight to Reno. We had a little trouble relocating the car rental place in order to return the car. In the midst of trying to find our way, Aaron (3 1/2) announced that he had to poop. As he had not pooped in four days, we took him quite seriously. We pulled over to ask for directions and to let Aaron use the bathroom.
He didn't go. I think that he was still so freaked out by the self-flushing toilets at Disneyland, which flushed every time he leaned forward, that he was purposely withholding. I sure hope he's able to go in a toilet before he has an accident.
The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) was a madhouse. I was thankful to be in a shuttle to the terminal, as the cars were moving along bumper to bumper at a frightening speed. The shuttle driver was having to make kamikaze runs across four lanes of traffic in order to drop all of his passengers off at their designated terminals.
We were able to all sit together on the plane, all eight of us -- mom-in-law, dad-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law in one row and Bryan, Jim, me and Aaron in another. We landed in Reno, drove the 45 minutes to Truckee, California, then just took it easy for the next several hours, recovering from the travel. Jim's brother and his wife decided to drive the rest of the way home to Sacramento, another hour and a half west.
My mother-in-law actually had the energy to cook dinner, so we had a nice home-cooked meal our first night in Truckee. =) Then we all went to bed shortly after the kids. More about Truckee tomorrow.
