I thought we were going to sleep in, then the alarm on my husband’s watch went off at 6:15 a.m. Ugh! It felt like I no sooner went back to sleep, and the travel alarm clock started beeping at 8:00 a.m. It seemed like as good a time as any to get up and get ready, so I did.

Shelly's family We got back to Disneyland at 10:15 this morning. We met the in-laws in front of the Plaza tree. I wanted some pictures of my family in front of the tree for you all to see.

We headed directly to Fantasyland this morning. We should have gotten up and gotten over there before 9:00 a.m., when all the rides open, but nooo, we’re too lazy. =) The lines moved pretty quick, though. We got to ride four attractions before lunch -- Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Storybookland Canal Boats, Alice in Wonderland and the Casey Jr. Circus Train -- all in Fantasyland. Aaron (3 1/2) was a little frightened in the Pinocchio ride and during parts of the Alice ride because the cars go into a dark room with fluorescent neon images on the walls and loud music. Bryan (6 1/2) seemed to enjoy it all. He was more concerned with the speed of a ride than how dark it was.

At lunchtime we headed back to the hotel for one of the highlights of our kids’ trip -- lunch at Goofy’s Kitchen. At Goofy’s Kitchen, the characters roamed through the buffet-style restaurant while we ate. They stopped at our tables to give autographs, let us take pictures and just to play. Pluto pretended to eat Aaron’s head, but he didn’t like that very much. Aaron told Pluto that he’d get sick if he ate Aaron’s hair, so Pluto pretended to gag. I could barely take pictures I was laughing so hard. We also had visits from Goofy, Cap’n Hook, Mr. Smee, and the Mad Hatter, and we saw Donald Duck and Chip on the way out. We all had a great time.

After a nap in our room, we were ready to hit Disneyland one last time. We took the Disneyland Railroad around to ToonTown to let the kids play some more. Then we went to the rides they wanted to go on again. First, we went on the Jungle Cruise, at Aaron’s request. Seeing the hippos was his favorite part. Then we went over to Tomorrowland, grabbed a burger at Tomorrowland Terrace, then caught the fireworks again. They were just as spectacular this time. When the show was over, Jim and Bryan went on Star Tours. It was Bryan’s third time in as many days. Aaron and I hung out in the gift shop and waited for them to join us. We got souvenirs for both kids, then met up with the rest of the family and went back to the hotel. The kids didn’t get to bed until 11:00 tonight. Now it’s after 12:30 a.m. Jim let me go downstairs, outside of our hotel room, to write this. But I need to get back up to the room and get some sleep. Tomorrow I have to get up and pack for our flight to Reno, and the second leg of this journey.

Good night, dear friends. More tomorrow.
