Paris''s Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 9, 2000

Well, my guests have rented their own apartment this week. It's in the next town down the road. It's quite a nice little place actually. We went down to have a look at it and I was rather surprised that it was so cute. It is small but they are a small family and I think they'll be fine for the limited amount of time they plan to spend there.

Peter stopped by to visit them today. I guess they may be thinking of leaving Southern Alberta for Toronto or Vancouver. To be honest, I hope they don't. Toronto is a horror show and Vancouver is nice but really expensive. I think maybe now that they are out on their own, they may be feeling the culture shock a little. Or, probably a lot. :0) I think they feel they may be more comfortable in a place like Toronto.

All I can say is that if they do plan to go to a big city, I sure hope they pick Calgary. It is so much friendlier. I'm sure now is the time that they are missing their family and friends and wondering what on earth made them decide to move to Canada, but the adjustment takes a while. I'm sure they will be fine. I think I'll have to go over and talk to them to see how they are feeling. Probably lonely.

I guess this week the whole move has finally sunk in. They are on their own here and it's scary. They aren't at my house anymore and I can't help them as much as I was. I am still helping but I'm not right there to answer questions or help make phone calls.

I don't think it's a matter of a job or anything to that effect but more a matter of loneliness and that is normal. Perhaps I'll pay them a visit tomorrow. :0)

Til next week,
Paris and family
