Introduction

Our one last day to hit the beach -- and it was a wonderful finale. The ocean performed some interesting maneuvers and created a shallow wading pool on the beach with a wide sand bar protecting it from the crashing waves. That's what I love about the beach, the shoreline can look different every morning. Because the pool was shallow, the water warmed up quickly and stayed warm. Well, the twins thought they were in heaven! They had a little pool to swim around in, and if they so desired, they could get out and go jump the waves. A toddler's paradise. Richard and I stood back and just watched them go. They looked so independent. They were turning into little girls before our very eyes. Will they remember this vacation when they get older? No. But Mommy and Daddy will. We'll show them pictures, tell them stories of our beach adventures and I'll even let them read my vacation journal. Our vacation with the twins left us needing a vacation from our vacation. But nothing could ever replace the contagious joy of two naked little girls sitting along the shore and shouting with glee as they waited for the tide and the undertow to meet around their tiny frames.
