Today is the day we have been waiting for, oh, and it is my birthday too!
Alexis went to school and Phill and Caleb went to get haircuts. The hairdresser mentioned that she thought Caleb didn't look well, and he felt warm. His nose had been pretty runny, and he was generally cranky so we decided to take him to the doctor. Good thing we did cause he had a double ear infection. The nurse practitioner we saw said one ear was pink and the other close to being red, but no fever. I talked to her about the flight the next morning and she said as long as we could get three doses of antibiotic down him, along with plenty of decongestant, he would probably be OK to fly.
Finally at 4:15 p.m. we made it to our hotel room -- what a joke! They first tried to give us a room that they are currently renovating, when Phill asked for a different room they gave us one about half the size of the first. We figured no big deal, we just wanted to sleep anyway. We went out for dinner to TGI Friday's and enjoyed a nice dinner. It was made known that it was my birthday and balloons were tied to my chair and at the end of the meal an ice cream sundae was brought to the table along with several servers singing a very lovely song. :-)
We went to run a few last minute errands and to get toys for the plane ride. Back at the hotel we took a quick dip in the hot tub, the pool was not heated, and went back to the room. This is when we first noticed that there was no alarm clock in the room. Since we had to call and find out where the laundry room was we asked about getting a clock also. First, they only had a single washer/dyer and somebody already had the key to it. Second, they would have to check into getting us an alarm clock. By 8 p.m. we had the kids in bed, and we were waiting to hear about the wash room and a clock. At 8:35 Phill decided he better go out and find a laundry mat to dry our swim clothes, and while he was out he picked up a clock. So, we wanted to be in bed by 7:30, and at 9:30 we were finally settled for the night. Tomorrow would be a long day, we needed plenty of sleep!
