Have a Ball in Montreal!

Affordable Family Fun in Canada

Located at "Old Port," the Montreal Science Center is a must-see. With exhibit halls, the Immersion Movie and interactive virtual reality games that are popular with young gaming enthusiasts, there is something for everyone here. Visit www.centredessciencesdemontreal.com for more information and current prices.

Near the Science Center, there is a playground at Clock Tower Pier and pedal boat rentals at Bonsecours Basin. You can also rent a jaunty yellow-canopied quadricylce, a bicycle built for four at Jacques Cartier Pier. It is a perfect way to tour the wide pedestrian boulevard and watch the happenings along the river.

For intrepid thrill-seekers, try a speedboat excursion. A Jet Boating Montreal guide will take you speeding across the rapids of the St. Lawrence River, darting under bridges and precariously close to the more placid cruise tour boats, finishing with Rodeo-style tailspins. Log on to www.jetboatingmontreal.com for more information.

Take the Metro to "Viau" and spend an entire day visiting four family-friendly (and tamer) attractions. The Botanical Gardens, the Insectarium, the Biodome and Montreal's Olympic Park are all within easy walking distance of each other. Purchase a "Get an Eyeful" package, which is $25/adult and $12.50/child for admission to all four attractions (prices as of January 2004). Buying the package saves money over the regular admission price and is also convenient, as you don't need to wait in line to buy tickets at each site.
