If You're Ever In Madison, Wisconsin...
By Catherine Wilke
If you're ever in Madison, Wis., stop by The Concert on the Square. Every summer the Madison Symphony gives free concerts on Tuesdays. They are held at the capitol building. We bring our two children (ages 5 and 1 1/2), a blanket, and usually a take-out pizza, and listen to fabulous music ranging from classical to Beatles tunes. The girls can dance or just lie on the blanket and look at the sky or the capitol building. The audience holds families with kids eating pizza, college students, and more "mature" people with picnic baskets full of wine and gourmet treats. Everyone can enjoy these events together. Definitely the best thing about Madison.
