If You're Ever In Lava Butte, Oregon...

Where else can you go on a hike with your family and possibly have a chipmunk climb into your diaper bag? Well, nowhere else I know but Lava Butte, near Bend, Ore.
Not only can you learn how and why the lava trails and tunnels are there by very informative signs placed along the trails, but you get in a great hike, great views of surrounding mountains, and if you bring sunflower seeds, the chipmunks will love you forever! All in all, it's a good family experience your kids will always remember. (I know because that's where my parents used to take me!)
