If You're Ever In Harrisburg, Illinois...
By Dawn
If you're ever in Harrisburg, Ill., be sure to stop by Garden of the Gods. Garden of the Gods is only a short drive away from my small hometown but it feels like it's an island by itself. As a child my father used to take me there to find wild flowers and as a teenager we would spend the occasional weekend up there basking in the sunlight on the rocks. Words can't really do justice to this peaceful haven of rocks and beautiful skylines. I could sit on one of the very highest rocks I had worked so hard to climb and look out over the state of Illinois and just feel at peace. The wind blows gently and it doesn't matter if it's spring, summer, or fall -- it will rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.
