If You're Ever In Fond du Lac, Wisconsin...
By Laura Fuhrmann
If you're ever in Fond du Lac, Wis., be sure to stop by Lakeside Park. I love to sit in this park! Located on the shore of Lake Winnebago, Lakeside Park has many features! A lighthouse, small amusement park in the summertime and a petting zoo are just some of my favorites. This place is a favorite of wedding parties because of the beautiful gazebo and fountain. The park also hosts a few festivals such as Walleye Weekend. At Christmastime, the whole park gets decorated for the holiday, including music, red and green lights and Rudolph on the
lighthouse, and Santa handing out candy canes. It really gets you into the seasons spirit to drive through. My husband and I will sometimes get lunch from the nearby Subway or A&W and sit by the fountain to eat. Add a few nice streams and plenty of picnic areas, and you have one great place to visit!
