Thanksgiving Getaways

Turn Turkey Day into a Special Vacation

Pages:  1  2  3  4

Thanksgiving is a time for family, of gathering together and being grateful. While many families choose to gather in someone's home, others choose to celebrate the holiday away from home.

Whether you're just hoping not to be a slave to the kitchen this year or you want to experience something truly unique, consider getting away this Thanksgiving. From Maryland to New Orleans, hotels across the country offer special celebrations this November.

The Inn at Perry Cabin, St. Michaels, Md.

There's nothing like a brisk autumn day spent beside the Chesapeake Bay, where succulent oysters are pulled from the briny depths and placed moments later on one's plate. This is a special, nostalgic place where one can while away a golden-hued afternoon at the nearby Festival of the Trees, a celebration that features ingeniously decorated evergreens, live music, a fun run, breakfast, evening fashion shows, a gala party, house tours and more.

Indeed, this is a wonderful region in which to celebrate the harvest season – and to rekindle one's holiday spirit. And there's no better place to enjoy the bounty and beauty of the Chesapeake than at The Inn at Perry Cabin.

This year, the historic Inn at Perry Cabin will welcome guests for Thanksgiving with a special, three-night package (November 27 to 30). Coupled with traditions harking back to the 1800s, Thanksgiving at The Inn steeps guests in this country's rich history. Thanksgiving dinner for two with all the trimmings (seatings from noon to 8 p.m.) is among the highlights. The package also offers a choice of Continental, Healthy Alternative or Country Morning breakfasts for two, as well as afternoon tea each day. Packages start at $1,141 (double occupancy), not including beverages, taxes and gratuity. Arrivals are on November 27 or 28 for three nights.
