Since 1927, the Ahwahnee has been one of America's most distinctive hotels. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987 and one of only 195 Historic Hotels of America – noted for preserving and maintaining their historic integrity, architecture and ambiance – this AAA four-diamond hotel is a great American castle, massive and warm with huge cathedral ceilings, enormous stone hearths and richly colored Native American and Oriental rugs.
Accommodations include 123 guest rooms (99 in the main building and 24 cottage rooms), four with parlors. Luxurious and accented with original Native American designs, hotel rooms feature upholstered chairs, televisions, refrigerators, bathrobes, hair dryers and bath amenities. Cottage rooms are located outside the main building in a picturesque woodland setting on the hotel's grounds.
The Ahwahnee houses a gift shop, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts. The Ahwahnee dining room serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. And there's plenty of adventure to go around. Here are some of the activities you can enjoy at the Ahwahnee:

The Ahwahnee is the only property in Yosemite with a year-round heated pool. In the winter, interpretive programs for kids and families (Wee Wild Ones and Fireside Storytelling) take place in the Ahwahnee Great Lounge. Kodak, one of the Ahwahnee's Park Partners, offers a children's photo walk in the summer that's booked through the Ahwahnee Concierge. Family day hikes are offered through the Ahwahnee each summer. And ever the gracious host, the Ahwahnee dining room passes out coloring books with environmental themes to keep kids entertained.
