Take Time for Fun in Texas
Stroll the Kemah Boardwalk!
By Donna Smith
Other charming accommodations can be found just off the Boardwalk. Stay in fully converted 1930s "fishing shacks" at The Sculpture Garden Bed & Breakfast. Stroll through the outdoor sculpture garden filled with over 100 original sculptures and 50 waterfalls. Firewood is provided on request to chase away the chill or to add to a romantic atmosphere!
Southern hospitality is what you'll find at Awhite Texas Pelican Bed & Breakfast. Located right next to the Boardwalk on Galveston Bay, guests will enjoy a private 100-foot pier in this charming two-story home.
Galveston, Texas, is only a 15-minute trip up the road and a perfect day trip if you're staying on the Boardwalk. If you're ready to hit the beach consider the family-oriented Stewart Beach or try an activity away from the water. The Strand is home to specialty stores selling everything from art to ocean knick-knacks, and quaint restaurants and cafes. Moody Gardens is 156 acres of fun! Children love walking through the Rainforest Pyramid and checking out plants from all around the globe. The Discovery Pyramid offers a galactic experience with space exhibits, and the IMAX Theater's six-story screen will delight kids and adults.
Whether it's a day trip or a weeklong excursion, you won't have a dull moment when you stroll the Kemah Boardwalk!
