Smugglers' Notch
Vermont's Ultimate Family Vacation
By Elisa Ast All
Imagine autumn in the mountains! Vermont is known for its incredible fall colors, and Smugglers' Notch offers an AutumnFest package where families can enjoy the amazing scenery at discounted prices. Foliage season is another time when the mountains beckon, and rates are nearly half off.
Winter is all about snow and what you can do in it. Skiing is the main attraction, and there are a variety of runs on Smuggs' three mountains. From novice to intermediate to expert, there are plenty of choices for every family member.
Cross-country skiing is another option, as is walking in snowshoes. Snowboarding has become increasingly popular with the younger crowd.
Smugglers' Notch is certain it has the recipe for family fun. In fact, they guarantee it. Having experienced it, our family can verify that they do a first-rate job.
When it was time for us to pack up and get back on the road, every one of us felt sad to be leaving our place in the mountains. As we drove out onto the winding road to begin our long journey home, CJ asked a different question: "Can we go back to Smugglers' Notch?" I replied, "Our family will be returning to Smugglers' Notch again and again."
