Adventure Inside

If the weather outside is frightful, it's no problem. Head to The Utah Museum of Natural History, featuring dinosaurs, a fossil dig, interactive exhibits and a variety of science workshops for kids. Call 801-581-4303 to see what's on the calendar.

And if your child, like most kids, likes to reach out and touch things, visit the Children's Museum of Utah. Touching is definitely welcome at this hands-on discovery museum with its 80-plus permanent exhibits, and your child will be having too much fun to realize he's learning about fossils, magnets and light waves. Call 801-322-5268 for the weekly schedule of imaginative classes and projects.

Visit Some Dude's Playground. This indoor playland features thousands of square feet of inflatable fun, including slides, a maze, a ball pit and more to bounce on, as well as Sumo wrestling suits and a human bowling ball game. But don't expect to just observe - it's off-the-wall fun for "kids" ages 2 to 102. For more information call 801-273-1035.

Finally, don't miss the Utah's largest indoor entertainment center: the Utah Fun Dome. There's something to wow everyone, from the eight-story bungee tower and the extreme Horizontal Terrorizor to a double-decker Italian carousal, bowling lanes and miniature golf. Hungry kids can devour pizza, hot dogs and ice cream. For more information call 801-265-FUNN.
