Riding a snowmobile full throttle through the morning snow is a rush like no other. With extensive trail rides through lovely, lush wooded areas, snowmobiling is a must for any adventure-minded traveler. Five reputable companies offer snowmobile-touring packages complete with training, trail maps, hot cocoa and meals. There are guided tours available as well as hotel pick-up options. There are five companies that offer snowmobile packages – High Country Snowmobiling, Homestead Snowmobiling, Park City Snowmobile & Sleigh Ride Adventures, Red Pine Adventures and SnoWest Snowmobiles.
Reaching the toasty Yurt after tromping through the snow is like opening the biggest gift under the Christmas tree. Gourmet dining and hot drinks await within its canvassed walls, and good cheer spreads quickly. A Yurt is a portable structure similar to those used by nomadic tribes in Mongolia more than 2,000 years ago. The domed, tent-like structure sits on a portable wooden frame to create an environmentally-friendly shelter. Despite the wild appearance, Yurts provide plenty of warmth while offering visitors an experience close to nature.
The Yurt experience provided by Park City Yurts is a spectacular mountainside experience at 8,000 feet up on the mountain. The Yurt offers lunch and dinner adventures throughout the winter season. Participants enjoy a combination of activities, which may include sleigh rides, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ski dating (two people, one pair of skis) or a gondola ride. All activities are followed by a gourmet Scandinavian meal.
Travelers who prefer to drive to their dinner destination may want to explore the many possibilities in town. Main Street in the heart of Park City hosts dozens of world-class restaurants. Restaurants sport menus from all around the world, and the food is fantastic!
