Orlando, Florida
Where to Stay and Play in America's Family Fun Capital
Part Two
By Elisa Ast All
Ready for more Orlando-area fun?
As magnificent as the Wyndham is, don't stay there all day – there's so much to do within minutes of the Palace!
This part is one of the newer Disney attractions. Think a wonderful zoo combined with a theme park, and you might come close to Animal Kingdom. You'll encounter wild animal adventures, prehistoric creatures, familiar Disney characters and live entertainment. Be prepared to save the last dinosaur from a meteor blast, be entertained by the Lion King and friends in a live show and take a safari through the African wilderness.
Of course, it's hard to go to the Disney area and not visit the Magic Kingdom. Going as a parent is such a neat experience. You can really appreciate all of the work that built this one-of-a-kind wonderland for adults and kids alike. Of course, you'll meet beloved Disney characters, journey through seven fantastic lands and enjoy 41 awesome adventures, including "Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin," "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh," "Splash Mountain," and the new "Main Street Electrical Parade." Our children were mesmerized by the character parade, in which they saw nearly all their favorite characters: The Lion King, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Aladdin, among others. The best part was when our twin girls were chosen to dance in the street with Cinderella and Prince Charming. The photos we have of their delighted faces will be family heirlooms.

As far as food goes, it's everywhere. But our top pick was the wonderful and exciting Rainforest Cafe
