When you have time to relax at the beach, attendants are there to greet you with towels and your choice of chaise lounges, umbrellas, hammocks or full-scale cabanas. Once settled, you don't have to leave your spot, as drinks and food can be brought right to you.

However, should you desire to stretch your legs, a full-scale BBQ and bar are available at the beach, serving everything from hot dogs to tuna fish. A band plays in the afternoon, adding to the tropical theme. If you decide you need additional pampering, the Sonesta has a 10,000-square-foot, full-service spa where you can indulge in massages, manicures, pedicures or half- and full-day treatments. Your every need is met and satisfied.

The rooms at the resort are generously sized and offer beautiful views of either the ocean or Biscayne Bay. Each room has a balcony large enough for dining or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. It is nice to open the door in the evening and allow the waves to relax you. Movies and popcorn are available through room service for that evening you just want to stay in and relax. When traveling with kids, the Sonesta tries to make it as easy as possible. Cribs, baby monitors, car seats, strollers and highchairs are among the baby gear available for use at the hotel.

Dining options abound in one of the Sonesta's eight restaurants and bars. Choices range from a casual coffee shop to a gourmet restaurant and everything in between. For additional variety, there are several fast food options, some local eateries and even a grocery store within walking distance. For those who want even more options and maybe a little bit of "nightlife" as well, South Beach is a short drive away.
