A Royal Getaway
Visiting Biltmore – an American Castle
By Lyn Mettler
The Inn at Biltmore
As lovely as it would be to spend a night in the Biltmore itself, completing your royal fantasy, unfortunately, they just won't let you. So the next best thing is the Inn at Biltmore on the estate grounds.
The Inn itself is an experience in elegance. Decorated in French Country style, the rooms are lavish, many with views of the Biltmore set off in the hills. Our room featured a separate marble shower and one-person bath with Jacuzzi jets, and guests are offered a Biltmore robe while visiting and complimentary slippers.
The Inn offers beautiful mountain views at every turn, from the cozy veranda to the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. A great evening activity is a 10-minute stroll down the walking path in front of the Inn to the winery for dinner. You can also dine at the Inn's restaurant, The Dining Room.
The Richmond Hill Inn
If you're looking for more cozy romance, a delightful place to stay is the Richmond Hill Inn, just 10 minutes from the Biltmore. The inn was once home to U.S. ambassador and congressman Richmond Pearson and his famil around the turn of the century.
