Cruising ABCs
Everything You Need to Know to Take a Cruise
By Crystal Patriarche
"Don't be tempted to buy souvenirs on board until you have visited all the ports, as the shops on board are pretty expensive," Baumann says. "Most likely the ports/islands will be less expensive."
Wonderful experience! The food is great, the shows are excellent and the staff is friendly. It is a wonderful experience to take a cruise, Estridge says.
"There are a number of great reasons to take a cruise," Miller says. "They tell you what to pack. All of your meals are paid for with the price of the cruise so you only need money for tips, alcohol and whatever you might want to buy. There's no rental car to mess with. Everything you need is on that boat. It's a traveling city."
If you are traveling with a baby or toddler, be sure to ask about safety on the ship and any children's programs that are available for the little ones. Many family cruises have so much for the little ones to do and allow for the adults to have their own time too.
A cruise is a great way to meet many people from all over the country and the world, so take advantage of the time you have to meet new people.
This is what you'll be when you return. After all the free food, entertainment, ports and nonstop fun, you will likely feel like a zombie after your cruise. "I can't wait to take another one," Miller says.
