The annual gingerbread house building competition takes place during Christmas in the Country and the gingerbread houses are displayed throughout the festival. Other holiday treats include caroling in the lobby, afternoon holiday tea, a symbolic lighting of a Hanukkah menorah in the lobby, lavish holiday brunches and dinners served on Thanksgiving and Christmas and visits from Santa.

Trimmed in a dazzling display of more than 3 million holiday lights, Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., is magically transformed into a winter wonderland during the Smoky Mountain festival.
A 45-foot-tall, three-tiered Christmas pyramid – the country's tallest – is the centerpiece of Dollywood's An Olde World Christmas. Located at the entrance to the park's Craftsman's Valley, the pyramid revolves to reveal intricate carvings depicting the Nativity.
The Old World Christmas Market in the park's Valley Exhibition Hall features authentic European items including handmade smokers, nutcrackers, pyramids, tin toys, mercury glass ornaments, Advent calendars, pewter and wooden ornaments.
