Aloha Kids
Experiencing Hawaii, Family Style
By Elisa Ast All
While romantic Hawaii is a popular honeymoon destination, it is also a place to enjoy with children. From pristine white beaches to fun day trips, Hawaii offers families an amazing time amidst some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the world. Aloha, and welcome to paradise, family style!
Built in 1991 with a commitment to portray the richness of Hawaii's nature, culture and people, the Grand Wailea Resort features luxurious accommodations, award-winning cuisine, a fantastic spa, championship golf and tennis and an array of recreational facilities and outdoor activities.
Situated on 40 acres of Wailea Beach on the southwest shore of Maui, the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa is a 35-minute drive from the Kahului Airport and a 20-minute flight from Honolulu.
The resort's Spa Grande is a place where parents can find refuge. The body is pampered while the mind is freed, at least for a while. The 50,000-square-foot spa offers a selection of luxurious spa programs, massages, facials, body treatments, Hawaiian baths and more. The fitness center offers wellness consultations and personal training.
While parents are at the spa, kids can enjoy Camp Grande, a fun, spacious and friendly mini-resort for kids ages 5 to 12. The 20,000-square-foot facility offers fun and exciting activities that range from learning to make a Hawaiian Lei and dance the hula, to playing ancient Hawaiian lawn games, kite making and storytelling.
Camp Grande facilities include a whale-shaped wading pool, movie theater, game room, snack bar, Foosball and Ping Pong tables, Kiddieland indoor play area with Lego blocks and board games and a large crafts room.
