By Donna Smith

To rejuvenate, visit the Bayside Spa and Fitness Center. The spa has 13 treatment rooms, steam rooms, a sauna and whirlpool and offers other services such as facials, manicures, massages and aromatherapy. Work out with free-standing and weight machines while enjoying the view of Lake LBJ, or take a yoga or Pilates class, then cool off in the private pool.
Don't think you can enjoy the spa or other activities because of the kids? The hotel offers a full-service kid's recreation program called the Monarch Kid's Club. Children 4 to 12 will enjoy interactive games and activities that exercise the mind as well as the body. From arts and crafts and beach activities to butterfly education and nature walks, the club's counselors will keep your children happy while you take a little time for yourself. Reservations are required so the club can maintain its six kids to one counselor ratio, so be sure to call ahead.
