Visitors who want to take a piece of Tucson home with them can visit the art gallery of Diana Madaras. Her work can be found in the finest resorts in Tucson and in almost every home in Arizona. Her colorful rendering of the Tucson countryside can add whimsy and charm to any art collector's walls.

Her gallery is centrally located on Broadway in Tucson and she is often at the shop to visit with guests.

History Havens

Petroglyphs drawn by the Hohokam people in the first century A.D. can be found at Signal Hill in the Saguaro National Park West. Tourists are allowed to visit this spot as well as many other history-rich sites in Tucson.

In Dragoon, a city southeast of Tucson, the Amerind (a nonprofit historical group) has one of the best collections of Indian artifacts in the world. They have ceremonial items and crafts that are finely detailed with beads and animal skins. The Arizona Historical Society Museum also exhibits items that recount Arizona's colorful history from Spanish colonial times through the present.

The heartfelt movie Tombstone was filmed in Tucson. The location is a national landmark and the Southwest's most famous frontier town. It was once home to Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Bat Masterson and the Clanton Gang. Geronimo once rode the trails surrounding the town, and many a shoot out took place on the streets. It is a must-see for Western enthusiasts.

Tucson has so much to offer, it would be a shame to miss this colorful part of Arizona. With all the hiking, golfing, eating and sightseeing, it is one of the most lively towns in the United States. What are you waiting for? Book that trip and prepare for an adventure.
