If You're Ever In St. Catharines, Ontario...
By Paris Cosby
If you are ever in, or around, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, you should really go to the old Merry-Go-Round in Port Dalhouse.
It is a beautiful old ride with big horses and sleighs. My kids loved it! As a kid, I loved it! My mom and Nana loved it as kids too! The best part is that they still only charge 5 cents per ride.
It's right on the beach of Lake Ontario and there is a wonderful view of Toronto. After you are done riding the merry-go-round, you can take a walk down the pier, look through the little shops, have a nice lunch at one of the restaurants, and -- if you hit the right time of year -- pop in for some world class rowing at the Henley Regatta!
The merry-go-round is open from the middle of May until the beginning of September. Every year, for the past 100 years, thousands of children and adults have enjoyed their 5-cent ride on the shores of Lake Ontario! You should too!
