If You're Ever In Starlight, Indiana...
By Lisa Hurt
If you're ever in Starlight, Ind., stop by Huber's Family Farm! Huber's isn't just a restaurant, it's a family experience! Incredible homecooked dishes, like country ham, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings and my personal favorite, fried biscuits with apple butter, are served in huge portions for great prices. But that's only part of the fun. There's a small petting zoo for the kids, an herb garden, a quaint playground, a lake filled with ducks the kid love to feed, a farmers market offering fresh fruits and vegetables. Spring and fall are our favorite times of year to go for two reasons: the drive through the countryside is breathtaking and in the spring you can go out on one of the wagons and pick your own strawberries, in the fall, you can pick out the perfect pumpkin. Every year we take four generations of our family there and every single one of them enjoys it as much as the others. It's the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. (There's also a winery and cheese factory nearby that's run by the same family.) The town of Starlight is in Southern Indiana, about a 30-minute drive from Louisville, Ky.
