Tropical Family Fun
The Starfish Resort in Jamaica
By Belinda Clarke
The most popular Starfish amenity (in the opinions of both parents and kids) is by far the Kids Club. Expertly and fully staffed by exceptionally attentive caregivers your kids will adore, you will be
hard-pressed not to take advantage of this service. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for an amazingly affordable cost, kids from 6 months and up will be entertained while you go snorkeling or relax at the beach. And this is what makes this resort unique. Often it's impossible for parents of infants, toddlers or kids of any age to really relax on vacation because kids are hard work, wherever you are. At the Starfish Kids Club, which is air-conditioned, stocked with toys, videos and computers and just steps from the pool, your children will be entertained island style.
And the fun isn't limited to the club itself. The Kids Club staff caregivers are happy to take your children wherever they want to go. At 2 p.m., your kids will likely be found at the poolside stage participating in the daily "family fun" show, which includes games and songs. There's also an expansive playground on the beach with swings and a toddler-friendly jungle gym.
Most important, the staff members of the Kids Club will happily fulfill parents' unique requests regarding their children. If you don't want your child to have too much sun, they will ensure that he or she spends time indoors and/or lathered in sunscreen. They'll feed your child whatever you want at lunch and even take him or her swimming at your request.
While your kids are busy at the Kids Club or hanging out at the Beach Grill, you can enjoy quality time lounging on the beach or at the pool. At both locations, shaded huts and cabanas are complimentary as are beach towels, snorkel equipment and non-motorized water sports, like windsurfing.
