The Plaza Hotel

A Bit of Magic in New York

After a busy day touring the city, families can relax in the luxury for which The Plaza is famous. For adults, The Plaza offers a full-service spa and exercise facility. For kids, rooms are equipped with video games, giving mom and dad a chance to rest and relax. Rooms at The Plaza are more than comfortable, with large beds and down-filled pillows.

The YPA program aims to be more than just a "'check-in, check-out' kind of program," Shuster says. Each member receives a quarterly newsletter called "The Quarterly Ambassador," with news of new benefits, games, recipes and birthday wishes to its members. In an effort to extend the program beyond the length of the stay at The Plaza, the YPA has launched a Web site at www.plazaypa.com, allowing members to keep in touch with other YPA friends they met during their stay. It's also a fun site to go to for games and new info on The Plaza.

Six-year-old Sunny Mericle experienced the YPA program when she and her mother, Dr. Penny Mericle, stayed at The Plaza while vacationing in New York City in the summer of 2000. Together, they visited Serendipity, Mars 2112, Staten Island, FAO Schwartz and many other places where Sunny a YPA member received VIP treatment.

"Sunny carried her membership card everywhere," says Mericle. "It made her visit magical."
