Park City, Utah, is fabulous, no doubt about it! It is a hideaway for Hollywood's elite and a winter playground for sports fanatics. When the snow settles on this old mining town, there is no end to the outdoor activities for women on the go. Fitness buffs will fall in love with Park City after just one day of playing in the snow.

Cross Country Cruising

Enthusiasts who want to push their workout to the limits can check out cross-country skiing opportunities at three different locations.

The Homestead Resort located in Heber is a short drive from Park City and operates 12 kilometers of cross-country skiing on their golf course. You can purchase lessons and rent equipment through their business office. The Homestead also offers quaint rooms for folks looking to stay overnight, natural hot springs that keep their indoor pool hot throughout the winter and a fabulous restaurant.

The Norwegian Outdoor Exploration Center offers guided cross-country skiing nature tours. Each tour is custom-designed and includes transportation, equipment rental, water and experienced guides. They also offer the option of purchasing a lunch to take along on the adventure. Reservations made in advance are recommended. For more information call 800-649-5322.

White Pine Touring is more centrally located in the heart of Park City. They have lessons, equipment and nearby tracks. They also offer classes in skate skiing and snowshoeing.

Hitting the Slopes

Three local ski resorts – Deer Valley, Park City Resort and The Canyons – offer downhill skiing. All three resorts are world-class and offer groomed trails and powder runs that no skier could resist. All of these ski hot zone facilities offer lessons and equipment rentals. There are also boutiques that sell the latest ski apparel and restaurants that offer tasty lunch and dinner options. Park City Resort and The Canyons also provide runs for snowboarding.
