If You're Ever In Nokomis, Florida...
By Stephanie Taylor
If you're ever in Nokomis, Fla., be sure to stop by the North Jetty Beach. I have enjoyed the beautiful warm water at the North Jetty for over 26 years. The sand bars go out for miles, giving the kids a lot of shallow water to play in. You can see schools of fish swimming by the water is so clear; this also makes it possible to see various sea creatures and identify them with the kids -- safely, without harming the
children or the ecosystem. In addition to the beach, the jetty itself offers a fish camp where bait, tackle and refreshments can be purchased. You can also hear some GOOOOOD local fishing stories, but you will have to decide for yourself whether or not to believe any of those!!
