If you'd like to tackle the island on your own, there are countless bicycle rental companies along the main street where you can choose single, tandem or mountain bikes, Burley carts, youth bikes and more. For a little more money, you can hire a livery carriage for a private tour of the island, or better yet, rent your own saddle horses or drive-yourself carriages!

We simply could not get enough of the beautiful landscape, history and culture we found in Northern Michigan! We only experienced a sliver of the many opportunities for family recreation and hope to return again soon.
