If you're ever in Katy, Texas, stop by Mary Jo Peckham Park at 5597 Gardenia. Known as "the park for all children," Mary Jo Peckham is just that! The elaborate playground equipment is wheelchair accessible, even one of the swing sets. A rubber surface surrounds the equipment making it a safer place for kids to play.

Mary Jo Peckham Park Are your kids in the mood to do something other than swim, slide or climb? Head to the miniature golf course! The newest addition to the park is a lake and covered fishing pier. A jogging trial circles the lake, half of which is paved, so let the kids bring along their roller-blades or scooters. A covered gazebo beside the miniature golf course is a perfect place to have your child's birthday party, or if you need something bigger, a covered pavilion is located near the lake.

The park also has inside activities, including an indoor swimming pool (reservations need to be made for the time allotted for recreational swim), and a fitness room. Classes for adults and children are held in the meeting room (some you are required to sign up for, others are always open!). The best thing about Mary Jo Peckham Park is the price -- everything is free!
